ZOMG ISMFOF ROFL

Listening to: Things that rhyme with orange by I Set My Friends On Fire
Finding the energy to: study for SAT's
Epically failed: Defeating Baron Brr in Super Mario Galaxy

I can't believe 2008 is almost over. It's been a awesome year.  I had an awesome birthday, I wrote my first ever major exam, I had a crush and got my heart broken (as usual, that's why they're called crushes.), I had a change in personality (in a good way) and I think I matured in a weird way. Gosh, I don't know if i have the energy to elaborate on each one.... Ok ok, lemme play Guitar Hero for a bit and let's see what happens...
.
.
.
.
Emo Wii!! It keeps on going off. It won't even let me finish a set list!!

Sassy 17
I still can't stress enough how unbelievably awesome my 17th birthday was. If I replay the whole day, you're probably gonna think it wasn't cool, but I think it rocked!!

I woke up and all my roommates attacked me with pillows >.<. I go for breakfast and everyone is wishing me happy birthday left right and centre. It was kewl! My sis put my present in my school bag so I found it when I got to class. She gave this really awesome card, chocolate and my iPod. See, I was in the middle of writing my mocks so my parents decided that Eli should keep my iPod for me until I was done. So I got to keep my iPod for the day! Luckily, I didn't have a paper that day so I locked myself in the spare art room and studied the whole day. I didn't see anyone until lunch. And later that evening, someone (I forgot...) came into my prep class and announced that it was my birthday. Later on, two guys in my prep class made me a card....

Killing two birds with one stone
A piece of advice to whoever it may apply to- Try as much as possible not to have a crush around the time you're writing one of the most important exams of your life.  It happened to me and I have no idea how I survived X_X.

In May, I wrote one of the most important exams of my life- The IGCSE. (I forgot what it means...) The exams spanned 4 weeks, they ended first week in June. I had been dreading this moment for the past four years of my life. All the classes, projects, orals led up to this. The teachers had given us so much hassle and now it was time. It was our only chance to show the school that we aren't the total douchebags they thought we were. Everything was at stake- our reputation, our futures, our lives, our everything (ok, maybe I'm exaggerating but you get the general idea) Then It happened...before I even wrote my first paper

So sure he was a nice guy and I had talked to him a few times before, but I never thought I would crush on someone again. It was the first crush I had had in about 3 years. It was like having my first crush all over again. I loved that feeling I got anytime I saw him...but I hated the way my sense of logic and reason would get tossed out once I saw him. We talked almost everyday and I heard rumors that he might have liked me too. I have to say, of all the crushes I've had in my life, he was the first one I actually talked to (I never ever had a normal conversation with my others). And hugging him was just awesome!!

With all this, it's a miracle I was able to do really well on my IGCSE's. I studied real hard and put all my energy into it. I also prayed a lot cause I was nothing without God. At the end of the day, my crush faded just as my exams were ending (talk about a fast crush!) but not without some rocky sides and I got 6 A's and 3 B's. We're still friends (and the hugging still rocks!! ^_~)
(Oh my gosh, did you think I was gonna tell who it was? Sorry to disappoint...)

Rock Goddess
I had been seriously considering getting Guitar Hero for some time cause it looked really cool. So when my parents went to LA in June, I asked to get me Legends of Rock, And they didn't dissapoint!! I feel in love with the game so much that I acquired this rock star aura. I began to pretend that I was actually one cause the game really opened me up to all these artists I hadn't heard of- AFI, Lacuna Coil, Superbus, Revolverheld, The Fall of Troy... so now I'm the most "rockish" person in my whole entire school. It's so bad that when I saw Victor at the mall the other day, he introduced me to his friend saying "This is my friend Sedinam, she wants to be a rock star when she grows up". Not true by the way...

So those have been the major highlights in 2008. I hope 2009 is so much way more better...

Happy New Year!!

Chocolate rox!!!

Watching: The Date Movie
Chatting with: Jeani

The whole country's kinda dead today. We had to go into a second round of election cause the first time, the results were so close. So I actually got back from the polling station with my mum cause she went to go vote. So hopefully by tomorrow, we'll know who our next leader will be for the next four years.

Christmas this year was ok. I got Guitar Hero World Tour, a Fujifilm Finepix J10 digi cam, a Creative Vado video cam, jewellry, a box of clothes (literally!) and other random stuff. My cousins came over and we hung out then I went over to my uncle's house and played Guitar Hero and Super Smash Bros Brawl with Kwasi and Ama.

You will not believe how extremely lazy and tired I'm feeling now. And I can't even play Guitar Hero cause my grandma just came over and she's watching Oprah and she's not leaving anytime soon cause we're gonna count the votes at the polling station. Ok, I'm gonna go eat now. I'm hungry.

Why does Christmas have to be tomorrow???

Listening to: Joy FM. I think it's Drive Time.
Busily: Wrapping presents
Drinking: Green cream soda
Chatting with: Golda

Oh man, I just finished my Christmas shopping and realized that I missed a few people. Ama and a few others. I just hope she doesn't give me anything tomorrow or else I'll feel extremely evil!

I have to get ready for the Joy FM thingie-ma-jig like right now but I'm still wrapping presents. I have to wrap my cousins gifts from our grandma. Those are the only presents I have left but I have to go and get READY!!!!

Yesterday was fun. After choir practice, Jeani and I went to mall with Kwasi and our respective sisters. Kwasi had to go back to school for college stuff so the 4 of us hung out. We want to the new store which is kinda like a Borders and a Best Buy merged. Jeani didn't want me to go there cause I would see the Christmas present she was planning on getting me. We still went and I saw it. It was a faceplate for the Les Paul controller with a GH3 shirt. Sadly, the faceplate only worked for PS3 and Xbox 360. "Good thing you saw it then." she said. So she got me a top which says "Rock Music forever" on it. And I also got a present for my sis- a black and red shirt.

Ama caught up with us and we watched The Day the Earth Stood Still and tried to find ways of getting home. Ama's driver picked her up, Jeani and her sis went with their mum and Eli and I went with our auntie who we saw last minute.

Monday was fun too. We rented a limo for my grandma and she felt on top of the world!!!

Eli's screaming at me to get ready. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Chapter 5- Angels and Monsters

Watching: SNL
Feeling: extremely hot. The weather's been like that lately
Really liking: My gold highlights

Oh my gosh, it's soooo good to be home!!! Christmas is here!!!!

So my report was good. I got 5's and 6's but I got a 3 in History!!! Wow, so the exam was that bad!!! No merit list for me next semester...

Tommorow is my grandma's birthday so, obviously, we're planning this huge party for her cause she's 70. My mum, unclle and aunt got her a TV!! How cool. Last year, they got her this really cute blue TATA car. She said I can use it anytime I want!!! Whoo hoo! The pedals are so light and extremely responsive!!

My school's festival of 9 lessons and carols was really successful to those invited. To me, it was the worst carols service in all my 5 years of being in school. Seriously. There were so many gaps between items and the microphone weren't working half of the time. It was really embarrassing!!!

So even though so much has happened, I really don't have that much to say cause I'm feeling extremely lazy. I'm gonna see if I can convince my sis if we can play The Sims. I was playing the really old Sims game for Gamecube on my Wii on Friday and a serious wave of nostalgia hit me. We used to make a seriously random family and lock them in a house and kill them by buying a lot of fireplaces and making them burn!!! It's soo much fun.

And I have to write that poem for my grandmother which I will post here when it's done. And I have to do some form of SAT prep. The Scarlet Letter is extremely boring. I think I've forgotten how to read books. Especially classics. Cause I can't make heads or tails which the book. The only good thing is the fact that it has over 800 SAT vocab words.

Tuesday, I have choir rehearsal cause my school choir is performing at Joy FM's carols service. See, what happened was this: Someone from Joy FM came to our carol's service and fell in love with our choir. So we went to the radio station last Monday (I didn't go cause there wasnt enough space. Paula and I were the rejects!). But I am singing at the carols service on Christmas Eve. My sis doesn't want to go cause of what happened last Christmas Eve...

flashback

My mum, my sis and I were hungry so we decided to go get a take away from a restaurant. While we were there, this lady ran in and out of the place twice then we heard gunshots. Everyone in the restaurant immediately dropped to the floor. It was really scary. After some time, everyone regained composure and came out of their hiding places and left the place. Luckily, our food was ready so we paid and left. Apparently, some robbers were trying to steal a lady's bag but she resisted so they tried to shoot her. One of the bullets even passed through the door. No one was hurt though.

end flashback

That's why my sis is paranoid about going out on Christmas Eve. Not her fault, really...

"The school is on fire!!!"- Jeani

Listening to: Headfirst Slide into Coperstown on a Bad Bet by Fall Out Boy
Chilling: in my classroom with Jeani and Kelly
Jeani is: listening to Hallelujah by Paramore and reading one of those SAT vocabulary novels
Kelly is: reading the Midnight Sun partial draft by Stephenie Meyer
(forever random!!! lol)

Exams are officially finally over!! My last French paper was manageable but tiring.  Classes official started today and already I've been bombarded with loads of work. I have an English commentary due tomorrow by lunch, a Geography presentation next Wednesday and I have to start thinking about my History Investigation (what am I, a detective?). On top of all that, I have to start working on the SAT writing section cause I suck at English stuff in general.

This weekend's gonna be long cause tomorrow and Monday are holidays (tomorrow is Farmer's day and Monday is one of the Muslim holidays. I forgot which one) and on top of all that, Sunday is Ghana's election day. I'm still too young to vote (one year below the voting age even though I'm turning 18 in less than 3 months). I really hope there's no bloodshed... Elections can get violent sometimes...

So with all this free time(!), what am I doing on the side? Well, Christmas is coming so that means my school's annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. Not only am I in the choir, but I'm also the star of the play!!! (literally. THE star!) This year, we decided that the wise men would chase the star to baby Jesus. The whole play is one big irony, it's so hilarious. Now I just need Se-Rah to help me with my costume cause she's really artistic.

Erika and I had a bit of a... recently so I don't know if she's not talking to me. I say hi to her sometimes but she kinda brushes me off with a smile on her face. I really hope she's still not mad at me cause I love her to bits!!! (Full story later probably)

And as promised- pics!!
I took this during Geography class today cause I was really happy and hyper!!!!

Kandi and Henry were messing around with my laptop the other day (don't tell them I uploaded this!!)

I declared yesterday Smosh Day cause I wanted to watch all my Smosh videos in one day. I didn't finish so I pushed the 'holiday' to today too!!

And she's little!!

Listening to: I'll be home for Christmas by Drew Seeley
Feeling: Glassy-eyed, numb and tired (In the middle of the day!!!)
Failure to work on: SAT Math
Number of exam papers left: 1 (French text handling)

I am exactly 85.71% done with my exams (I have a total of 7 papers and I've done 6) so I've been free the whole day today. I spent 2 and a half hours playing the Sims 2 and watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother. I really need to take a nap cause I look like shit right now but I'm not gonna. I pulling a strong late night tonight. After lunch (hopefully if there is no karate) I'll play the Sims until 5:30, bath, go for dinner and hopefully if nothing comes up I'll do my laundry and watch as many episodes of How I Met Your Mother as I can. And tomorrow I WILL study SAT Math. Promise!!
My exams so far have been a roller coaster of ..... dunno. Let's recap shall we?

Monday:
Math: A horrible way to start the exams. 7 questions in 2 hours. 1-4 were manageable but after that it became more horrible. Luckily I was able to get a 5 and I am EXTREMELY proud of myself!!!

History: Who writes a History exam in 1 and a half hours and FINISHES??? I had to writes 3 VERY detailed essay in 90 minutes. Obviously, I didn't finish...

Tuesday:
English: Once again, unable to finish. I had so many ideas to talk about I spent 30 minutes writing them all down and an hour to write the actual essay. My ideas were sooo many only a quarter made it into the actual essay. And I didn't even talk about STYLE!!!

Wednesday:
Chemistry: @_@ (nuff said)

Geography: Oh my hacking gosh!! Question 2 c!!! Why????

Thursday:
French 1: So far, I think this is the only paper I was able to finish before time and go over my work. My essay look less than 300 but it actually a little over. I really squished my handwriting on the page.
I just hope my grades are good enough to keep me on the merit list. I highly doubt it though...

I just realized that my blog's a bit dead so I 'm gonna start putting more pictures up. I'll spend most of this weekend (if I can) taking pics on my Mac to put up here. But for now let's start with this one. I don't know where they took it though. Matthew's laptop I think. Valerie gave me her pen drive so I stole them. They look so cute and fresh!

I had what I will liberally call "the best dream eva!" last night. Lemme just say that it felt so real that I thought it was really real. But the rising bell rang and I was brought back to cruel reality. I almost cried. I can still the note really visibly. The words. The confession. The kisses. The hugs. The relative barrier. The nickname at the end. My feelings from last semester want to come back. They've been fighting with my normal feelings for some time. Now I don't know if I've really moved on. The other side has but might be showing very faint signs but it could be my imagination.
(Sorry if I seem quite confusing and not giving a lot of information. I don't know if I want to say the WHOLE thing. Yet.)

Onwards to tomfoolery!!!!

It's Just Another Way To Die

Listening to: A Kiss To Send Us Off by Incubus
Studying: Math (test tomorrow!!)
Loving: The new cinema at the mall

Believe it or not, I just woke up. What a life. Wake up then blog.

My weekend was good. The highlight is the fact that I'm home! I came home on Friday 'cause I had a doctor's appointment and stayed all weekend! My parents had gone to Dubai for the week cause it was my mum's birthday last Saturday (coughhoneymooncough) so they met up with me at the ultra sonic scan office. My mum spent practically the rest of the day telling me all she did in Dubai; shopping, sightseeing... the works.

After the doctor's, we went home and I took a nap Then we went to see Quantum of Solace at the new cinema at the mall. It's really cool. The cinema I mean. The movie was good too. It's the first Bond movie I've seen from beginning to end. Then we went to the exclusive bar in the mall- Rhapsody's. They don't allow under 23's in after 6 but I got in smoothly. It was awesome!! But the service was soo bad we ended up going to some take-away place and eating starters until 1 am when we left for home.

Yesterday was uneventul. I spent most of it studying and working on my iTunes library. I have over a 1000 songs!! Go me!!

So know I'm still studying cause I got a serious Math test and I might also have my TOK test tomorrow.

Hey, I hope the girls had fun on their day out yesterday!

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Oh my hacking gosh thank you!!!

Listening to:Within Me by Lacuna Coil
Working on: SAT's
Thinking about: My TOK quiz tomorrow and my hot math quiz on Monday

Oh my gosh, you will not believe how ESTATIC I am right now!!!! I had a French essay due today and I had left my exercise book in the hostel so I was contemplating going back for it but I chickened out (We're not allowed to go back to the hostel during school hours). So I copied out my essay on paper and hoped for the best. I go for Geography class and Dzifa tells me that we don't have a French class today cause our French teacher is busy with the 12th graders' oral exam!!!!! I was soooo happy it was scary!!

So what's been cracking with me lately? Nothing much. I'm just trying to study for exams but soo much stuff pops up. Like how I wanted to learn History last night but I had to do my French essay instead... oh well... Next week is revision week so no homework, no tests just revision for exams. *sighs* I really hope I get above 30 points. I'm aiming for 5's in all my HL's, a 7 in History and a 5 or 6 in either English or Chemistry.

Wish me luck!!!!

"Once or Twice"- Jeani's random phrase of the day!

Listening to: Prelude 21/12 by AFI
Doing: Geography research on Thomas Malthus
Looking forward to: Exeat this Saturday!!!

Jeani, will you blog for me? I'm feeling lazy...

fine...

The school's internet has not been working properly for some time. At one point in time, I felt that the whole school was like the South Park episode were they wake up one morning and the internet's gone (and funnily enough, Dolly and I stayed up the night before it happened doing our MUN research)

Ah, MUN. There was an MUN conference at another school about 2 weeks ago and I was the delegate of Panama in the Security Council. Lemme just say that it was my first official MUN so I was a bit confused so I was quite quiet during the debates. But when we had the Generel Assembly, I was talking up a storm! Some terrorists had captured a fellow delegate and wanted the whole of Australia. If we didn't comply within 2 hours, the delegate would be killed and they had suicide bombers in all the major cities in the world. Unfortunately, when we can out with a resolution after the 2 hour deadline so the delegate was killed and 105 million people were killed in the suicide blasts. (remember, it's fake. It didn't really happen. But the delegate was really absent that day.)

And I'm proud to say that I'm failing 5 of my 6 classes!! Weird huh? The only subject I'm doing ok in is English and that's because we've hardly done any exercises. I had Math and Geography tests the Monday after the MUN conference. And because I had spent the whole weekend doing the Conference, I didn't get time to study so I failed and failed miserably!! But the only reason why I'm happy is cause it will give me the energy to learn for exams so I can have a really good report this Christmas (exams are in 20 days...)

Halloween this year was a bit dead. I went as Boxman from Smosh and I got 2nd place for bet costume. Daniela won- she was a snake lady. And it was so painful cause everyone kept on hitting me while I was in the box and I didn't take a lot of pictures that night...

Today, they FINALLY resolved the History and Geography problem. The History class has been spilt up to 2 sets. I'm in set 2 a.k.a non-Economics students. So now I have History when there's Economics. That means my beautiful timetable has been destroyed. I used to have a free period every single day but now I only have free periods on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (at least my 4 free periods on Fridays are still intact) And we just got a student teacher from Central Michigan University in our History class yesterday... v.v

Oh, I almost forgot! Today's election day and everyone in school's gone Obama crazy!!! It's so hilarious!! And Ghana's elections are in about a month...

And I would also like to mention that too many people are born on the 4th of November!! Happy birthday Lizzie, Rita, Nii and Somi!!

By the way, I'm officially math retarded!! I can solve really hard math questions but I can't solve really hard ones!! Example is the last question. It was a simple math question but I spent a good 15 minutes trying to solve it and I know I got it wrong. crazy huh?

Tawana, for some unexplainable reason, you're my fave housemate right now!!!

Listening to: Tchi-Cum-Bah by Superbus
Watching: BBA 3
Finding the energy to: Learn Chemistry. Mid-term test coming soon...
Thinking about: The French essay I haven't finished which is due first thing Monday morning...

Busy week the past one's been. I can't remember what I did last Saturday but the day was quite dead. Or Sunday. I know I went to church...

But I remember what happened during the week. I had lunch with Ewuradjoa, my friend from middle school. She's done with high school and is working on her college applications and SAT. She wants to go to Yale I think. She also told me that most of of our friends are all leaving the country for university. Mostly to the US, a few to Canada. Really makes me feel small. I have another 2 years...

Jeani and her sis Steffi came over on Tuesday. I got them hooked on Guitar Hero (after I intmidated them with my awesome skills on Closer-Medium). Yasmin came over on Wednesday. We just hung out watching BBA and a Rowan Atkinson video she had. I spent most of Thursday sleeping cause I stayed up to watch the presidential debate (JOE THE PLUMBER!!!) but I went over to Katakyie's house when he was done with school. He's writing PSAT today. He's getting me started on Avatar. H e gave me the first 6 episodes of Book 1 and I'm gonna get rest today. I watch part of episode 1 yesterday. It's quite good. Oh, yesterday...

Erika came over impromptu. We talked for like the longest time imaginable about the people in school. Then we went to the mall cause Eli and I had school shopping to do and we picked Yasmin up cause her house is close and it was a hot day. She didn't want to walk. When we were done, Eli went for her confirmation class (She and our cousin Jimand are getting confirmed tomorrow) and I got ready for the Korean dance. Not like a dance party. The Korean Embassy organized a performance on Korean culture. The Korean in our school put posters up to advertise. Jeani said she wanted to go cause since the Olympics she's really fascinated with the Asian culture. She even asked me to give her my J-pop songs. Her iPod is now infected with Ayumi Hamasaki...

Jeani came to pick me up when she was done with MUN at school (Her commitee's boring but I love the stuff she's written so far. She's a press member and is writing her stuff Gossip Girl style!) Yea-young was soo excited to see us!! I think her fear was that no one from school would show up. We got there really early so we spent like 30 or so minutes trying to find good seats. Erika and her bro Ellis came too and we ended up sitting upstairs. It was a good show. I loved the fan dance. It was really prettyful!!! lol. And I almost ran into my old art teacher las night. Good thing I didn't...

Today's another dead Saturday. I'm home alone right now. Eli's gone to get a fake doctor's note, my dad's playing squash and my mum's doing her usual Saturday morning errands. And I have no idea what I'm doing for the rest of the day.

SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!

...which reminds me, I gotta work on my Halloween costume...

Emotionally scarred last Saturday...*Cue suspense music*

Listening to: Do It by Nelly Furtado
Watching: BBA 3 (Tawana looks like a crayon!!!)
Indecision: What am I doing today???

I found my extremely old iPod. The mini. It's bulky and looks older than 4 years but I'm having a blast listening to all my old songs!!

The Founder's day week ended on a good note. We all had to were our school polos on Friday (ew!!) but it was an interesting day. We had this big assembly thing with a play and awards and junk. Then we spent the rest of the day getting ready for the funfair...

...which, by my standards, was a success. We weren't fully ready by 10 especially since most of the 12 graders went to write SAT's but we bounced back quite quick. I helped with the haunted house the day before (which was an uber success!!! The most successful thing at the funfair after Jamz...) and spent the whole day walking all over the place even though I worked in both the casino and games room. (I played Mario Kart Wii too!! It was quite fun) At about 2:30 I went to the Jamz room but it wasn't really active cause it just started. I left at 3, found Jeani who had spent the day with her parents and we went back at 3:30 and the place was damn hot!! I saw smoke coming out of the room and was like 'Who's smoking up there?' (It was on the 3rd floor of the Resource Center) Entered the room and immediatly got hit by a blast of hot hair. I stayed in until 5, dancing my little heart out. We managed to get the best DJ in Ghana- DJ Black!! My hair was uber wet with sweat but I think it was worth it!! (But there are some memories I want to throw away to the deepest darkest corners of the earth. *shudders*)

We watched a few performances for an hour then the Jamz continued until 8. At this point in time it became a free-for-all (at first it was 16 and over) I went back in at 7 cause I was hanging with Jeani. She said she couldn't go back in there so she went back to the room and watched Stardust. I went back in and the nightmare started all over again (Why???) The fun part was over... When the lights came back on, the walls were discolored cause people had grinded seriously on the walls... Most of the teachers were mad!!

So basically that was the funfair (The Premiere...Fly @ 5). I spent the past week looking back at everything that's happened to me during the past mid-semester... And the analysis? I gotta work harder academically, I gotta clear my head of what doesn't deserve to be there (It's gonna be soo hard!!), and I gotta go crazy for CAS!!!! My mid-semester report was good though. I got about 36 points so hopefully I'm on the merit list (more good things for my college applications!!)

Now I have to plan my mid-term... driving...lunch with friends...mall crawling...Guitar Hero... hmm...needs more activities... Mother is screaming something about grandmothers... gosh!!

Happy (late!) birthday Jeani!!

Hey JT!!

Yeah I know, your birthday was yesterday... But we had fun, no? The 10 million videos we took... lol. Too bad we couldn't have our kaba photo shoot v.v

OK, anywhoo, I can't believe your finally 17!! OMG you are such a baby! Don't worry, I'll pick you up one of these days... when I get my license!! (Next year when I hit 18!!)

I miss our Mission Impossibles from last semester!!

I just wanted to say that you've been an uber awesome friend. You've always been there for me and tolerated me on my worst days. I honestly can't imagine life without you... *doesn't think about*

You really laughed at me the time when I called you about the security guard...

But no worries, JT cause we'll be together for the rest of our natural existence, whether you like it our yes!

Our college road trip thing is still on. Vegas, here we come!!!

Just remember one important factor in life-  I will always be there for you. Though I may not  show it openly, I always will be, okey dokey smokey???

Remember last semester with the person in grade 10? You really helped me through that!!

LUV YA LOADZ!!! xxx

Noda noda noda!!!

But you're still a n00b!!

"The sea is wine red/ This is the death of beauty"

Listening to: Jeremy by Pearl Jam
Current academic pursuit:Finishing/doing English and Math homework
Hoping: The funfair goes off without a hitch.

Theophilus just gave Jeani and I nicknames: Timon and Pumbaa. I'm Timon and Jeani's Pumbaa. I asked him why he gave us the nicknames and he said it's because I'm small and Jeani's big. My logical reason is that Timon is the crazy ringleader and Pumbaa kinda goes along with the flow (ok so we don't really act like that but it's close!)

Right now, my school is celebrating it's 5th anniversary. The actual day is on Friday but there are activities planned for the whole week.

Monday- Symposium on international education. Yawn! At one point in time, Ama, Akosua and I were in the bathroom and played 2-4-6-1-1 and ampe!)

Tuesday- Debate. "Is Ghana ready for a female president?" Boys were for and girls against the motion. The girls won by a landslide!! It was hilarious!!

Wednesday- Career Day. Spent most of my time with the IT experts!!!

Thursday- Staff vs students football match. I always look forward to this every year!!

Friday (A-day)- NO SCHOOL!! Photo exhibition, enactment of school's dream, special assembly and some other stuff I can't remember...

Saturday- Funfair!!

Sunday- Special anniversary church service.

Next Friday- MID-TERM!!!!! lol!

Busy week huh? Well, I guess. And it doesn't help that I have tests coming up (Math on monday) and homework (English is 2 and a half pages? why????). IB's a crazy thing...

Oh yeah almost forgot to mention: Saturday's games were the most boring ever but it was the best for me! Weird huh? My cousin Gabriella came (shocker!) and Micheal too!! Yay!!! I missed him so much! And now everyone's looking forward to the funfair! The IT department actually unblocked Facebook so we could tell everyone about the funfair!! Can you imagine? Well, I'm abusing it. I haven't really said anything about it yet but I will, soon. I reminded Katakyie about it again. He's forever grounded!! I just hope his dad allows him to come. I mean I practically begged his dad to let him come. And Michael said he's sacrificing his exeat to come. Yay!! But don't worry guys (aka whoever reads this), I'll give you the full report next week!!

Ok now seriously, I have to do my work...

New music, sleepless nights, changing of results, chicken pox, bitches, body scans,.... all part of what the French would call 'ma vie'

At: my mum's office
Watching: World Sport on CNN
Eating: Fries
Drinking: Water

I don't even know where to start!! Ok, let's start with the most important thing: I'm over my History hostility (yay!!) The subjects still clash though (boo!!) but I'm in Geography class most of the time. (uber boring!!!) but I'm still good!!

Sleepless nights
The Inter-Hostel singing competition is FINALLY over!! No more late nights or 'sleeping' in class (I don't actually sleep in class, I kinda go off due to lack of sleep. One time, I ran on 4 hours of sleep! My roommates and I stayed up after singing practice to about 1:30 am talking about all the stuff we had done in school since Grade 7!)
Generally the performances were really good (as always!) but the competition between hostels was't as much as last year (due to the fact the the really competitive seniors in the different hostels have all graduated) but it was all good! After the performances, we gave the judges a bit of time to compile the results. Normally, during this time, the different hostels are suppose to re-perform their songs from last year but no one was up to it this year. So... we all went outside and took PEEKCHAASS!! (I don't have them right now. I'll get them from Dzifa later this week and put them up later)
15 minutes later, we were back inside, anxiously waiting for the results. MY HOSTEL WAS FIRST!!! ALL OUR HARD WORK PAID OFF!! We celebrated like crazy!

Changing of results
Monday, during lunch, we got the breakdown of the results-the compulsory and optional. But guess what? Apparently, there was a mistake in the results! My hostel then got bumped to 2nd position and the other girls' hostel was first! Either way, I was cool with it. I just hope I get a little more than 20 CAS hours...

Chicken pox
There's a chicken pox outbreak in school!!! AH! I'm not worried. I got chicken pox when I was a baby (and don't you dare say it's possible for me to get it again!! Cause it's not!) One of the 12th grades classes did a presentation on it a few weeks ago. Erika had a chicken pox scare after that. She said she was burning up and had rashes on her back. My roommates quarantined her from our room. She went to the nurse and it was just a normal rash. Keith told me yesterday that he had alleriges but I called it chicken pox. He has all these spots on one side of his face. In our current 'chicken pox epidemic' what else would I call spots on face. Pimples?

New music
I am sick and tired of the music I listen to- Pearl Jam, Lacuna Coil, Incubus, Fall of Troy etc. Not that I don't think they're uber awesome but I listen to them day after day, night after night, free period after free period. I needed a change. One of the new 9th graders I talk to, Rita, lent me her iPod on Sunday. She has all these cool bands and artistes on it- Cute Is What We Aim For, The Cab, The Hush Sound, Mickey Avalon, Brokencyde... it was UBER REFRESHING to my ears to hear different artistes. I'm on a mission to listen to every song she has. She has 250 songs and I'm on the 167th song (on shuffle) Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap. Of course, I don't listen to EVERY SINGLE SONG, I skip the ones I know/have like Panic at the Disco and Rihanna. And I made a list of my favorites so far. Quite a lot of Brokencyde...

Body scan
My dad came to pick me up today during my 2nd Tuesday free period. My body's acting really weird so I came home to have a doctor look and me. I had to take a blood test and I got 2 shots instead of one! The first shot didint bring out any blood. And my BP's quite low too...I 'm due for a scan tomorrow (I'm not pregnant just in case anyone was thinking...) and to see a specialist. Hopefully, nothing is seriously wrong with me...
Bitches
New people just keep coming to my grade! The latest edition is Sarah, a Nigerian who used to live in the UK. (or was the newest person Francine? *shrugs*) She's really petite and has a really small face and she's really cute. She was a day student earlier but became a border just last weekend. Everyone in my grade likes her (and all the new people so far!)
Sarah's table is really close to mine in the MPH (aka canteen) and for some bitchy reason, one of my tablemates, Michelle, don't like her. Michelle is a year below Sarah and I (I'm in grade 11) and is always gossiping about Sarah on the table. She talks to her friend who is on the table behind her and says bitchy stuf like ' Ah this girl who does she think she is? She just came and she's eating the food. If I were on that table, I'll beat her everyday.' or 'This girl just came and she thinks she's a senior (the grade 11's have a lot of responsibilities!)' or ' Look at her small body' or 'Look at her plenty hair that she's always leaving down. She doesn't even look nice'
(sorry for the swearing)
Michelle fucking pissed me off yesterday at breakfast because all that came out of her mouth was shit! You haven't even gotten to know the girl and you're already trash talking her! And I already don't like Michelle. She has a bitchy streak a mile long (Quite a few people in her grade do). I wanted to say something so bad but I knew she would pull the 'I wasn't talking to you' card on me and I didn't want to ruin my day at breakfast. So I kept quiet and fumed. My other tablemates Nii (grade 9) and Prince (grade 11) tried to talk to me but I was too pissed off at bitchy Michelle. Oh but don't think I'm not gonna get my own back! I'm gonna do stuff that really piss her off. I know she hates it when I clear the food away while she's eating. Hey maybe while I'm doing that, I'll make a bit of the leftover food fall into her plate! (Does that make me a bitch too? I hope not...) Never mess with Sedi's freinds! Ever!

Other stuff which couldn't fit in the title
The sports competition is this Saturday! I'm a bit more excited about it now 'cause my friend, Katakyie, came to visit his sister in school on Sunday and I told him about it. (he goes to one of the other international schools in Ghana and claims he's on his school's soccer team) He said he had to get round his dad but he's hoping. And I also invited him to our school's first ever funfair which is on the 4th of October.

You know, maybe Saturday will not be as bad as I expect. Michael said he may come cause he misses us (Me. Jeani. Eyram, Kandi and 'everyone else'). But hey! you never know what may happen...

Does my new profile pic make me look a little rock star-ish? My hair looks purple! But it's not!

Don't ******* give me a guilt trip!!

Listening to: Kiss and Control by AFI
Current academic pursuit: learning Chemistry and Geography (or trying to...)
Wishing: I had the power to kill...

Urgh! School's in super full swing and i just realized that I don't want to do History AT ALL!!! You know who I blame? The IB coordinator of my school. Last year he told me and Jeani that he would bring Information Technology in a Global Society so we were like ok! We come back to school and he changes his mind (can I kill him? PLEEAASSEEE???) So now I'm stuck doing History which I'm not enjoying too much. I just can't believe that I'm gonna do History for the next 2 years (oops sorry, 18 months!) when I'm not even gonna DO History in university (I plan on doing Mathematics and Computer Science... at my first choice Carnegie Mellon!!)...See my predicament!!

Anywhoo, The guilt trip comes from my History and Geography teachers. Because their subjects clash, I have to alternate classes. So when I go for Geography, I get the guilt trip from my History teacher and vice versa (that whole "you didn't come for class" thing) It's frigging ANNOYING!!!!! *sigh*

I can't wait for September to end! The singing competition is this Saturday and I can't wait for it to be over. And after that, there's the Sports competition between my school and like 5 or 6 other international schools in Ghana. See why I can't wait for September to end?

"IB is a rigorous course for highly motivated students" lulz... (Happy birthday Dolly!!!)

Listening to: Mirrorcle World by Ayumi Hamasaki
Hiding in: the Library (no ones after me though!)
Current academic pursuit: Filling out my CAS form

Hey all. I know it's been a while since my last update. School started and everything's just gone crazy!!
When I came back to school last Saturday, everyone was uber happy to see me. I was practically floating on cloud 11 (shows you how happy I was!)
Sunday, we got our new uniforms... X_X. I hate them. My dad loves them...
(full body shoot coming soon)

Now IB is in full swing for my grades. We have quite a few new people and there's already a lot of drama (and it's only been about a week!!!) So now here's my official list of subjects:

Mathematics Higher Level
Geography Higher Level
French Higher Level

English Standard Level
Chemistry Standard Level
History Standard Level

History and Geography clash on the timetable so until a change is made, I have to alternate. I go for History on Mondays and Geography Tuesdays to Thursday. So far my fave subject is Math (what a geek... but by next week, I'll be wishing I never choose the damn subject...)

Oh gosh I thought was gonna talk about soo much..Ok I have a bit of time...(I have another free period and another...CAS can wait a bit)

So Fang spent her summer in China but she was in Shanghai. She got me some cute hair stuff and one of those toys you get from McDonalds. It was the red Olympics mascot, Huanhuan or whatever its called. She told me their names strung together translated to "Beijing welcomes you!" You gotta love the Chinese...

Snack time!!! Not like I'm going...

The Dream Team: Munn, Sessler, Pereira and Webb rocked!!

Watching: BBA 3 (no life!!)
Listening to: Once by Pearl Jam (don't kill the song before it's time Sedi!!)
Loving: Chuck Norris Facts!!
Learning: how to type in l33t {0 (-) (-)1}
Fustrated about: How uber annoying the M-NET website is!
Just finished: a vanilla milkshake

Hey all!! School's starting on Saturday. This time for real!! Home's been good. I guess it was bound to happen anyway. I'm done with most of my school shopping so now I have to go through and find any little stuff is left.
A new store opened at the mall. It's called Truworths. And I went a bit crazy in the store too. They were having a mystery discount so I went a bit crazy buying random junk. And all I got was a 10% discount so I had to put some of the stuff away...

So today I had to go back to the mall today got some bowls for my mum and i got those cool pair of sunglasses. Yeah yeah I know summer's almost over but hey, there's mid term and Christmas (it always sunny in Ghana!)

Urgh so school. I miss Leighton and everyone else. Norway was an epic fail that's why I'm still here (I was this close to going!!). But hey!! I'm still good!!

Goodbye Olympics... Hello Big Brother Africa 3!!

Watching: BBA 3!!
Eating: sausages
Drinking: Sprite
Loving: Mimi, the Ghanaian housemate. She pwns excessively!!
Not liking too much: Lucille (forgot what country. Party up girl!!)

Ah! well. Being lazy and crazy at the same time pwns!! Last night, I went out to dinner at a French restaurant with Jeani, my cousin Ama and Kafui, a really good friend of ours. It was a helluvan awesome night. We laughed for like 2 and a half hours straight...

...Oh wait! You were expecting me to say that I'm in school right? Sorry, the school decided to give us an extra week. So imma be back on the 30th and start IB on the 1st of Sept!! woot!!

The Olympic closing ceremonies were good. I really hope London is able to keep the Olympic standard high. My mum doesn't like the logo. Their little spectacle was cool. Leona Lewis performed!! And Jackie Chan sang too!!! I want one of those doll mascots. They're so cute...

Hey hey!! What's this? Tawana (aka the mother cause she's the oldest) and some other guy are having a heated discussion about religion. Action already? Things are looking up!!!

Ha. So. Another week. Yum... This week needs to pwn absolutely!! I'm going to an store opening on Tuesday!! Can't wait!!!
muah!!

I know I should have gone with them!!

Listening to: some woman on the radio talking about something (not really listening...)
Woke up at: 8:45
Health status: cold (has lasted for about 3 days now)
Still: in my PJ's
Will: go berserk if I don't do something active soon...

So I'm been lazy for the past 2 days. And it's been good. But it gets boring fast. Ok lets recap

Monday:
Did nothing. Mifa and Momo slept over and had to leave at like 7 so I had no other option but to wake up. Just lazed around. Tried to finally complete Twilight Princess but couldn't cause my Wii kept on going off on me. Watched 'Chicken Run' and 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' and the next thing I knew, it was 6 and 'The Simpsons' was on!! But my mum kept on making me run errands during the show so I didn't really enjoy it much. boo... Daddy came home and watched 'No Country for Old Men'. I should have watched it with him but I was busy chatting with Jeani (she says that when we chat, we sound like we're insulting each other. I kept on calling her a n00b. I always do!! ^_^) Then my cold kicked in and I was sneezing like crazy. My eyes watered and I started talking funny (that's the part I like about getting a cold... don't look at me funny...) After my parents went to bed, I stayed up and watched 'Hot Fuzz' for a bit then switched to 'The Queen'.

Tuesday:
Woke up not feeling to good so stayed in bed for another 2 hours, totally forgetting to watch 'Mr. Bean's Holiday' (so much for watching it before school...) Tried Twilight Princess again but the Wii went off on me again (grr...) Later on, I went over to Michael's as Jeani and I had planned. We played Fusion Frenzy 2 Tournament mode. Jeani won. The setting were you had to conquer 3 planets to win and by the time we had played in all 7 planets, Jeani, Michael and I had 2 planets and the CPU character had one. And since we didn't want to replay the plants all over again, we played rock paper scissors to determine the ultimate winner! I remember the Wired magazine article I had read on pwning in R.P.S. I think it said playing scissors first.

The result?
rock...

paper...

scissors!!

Michael and I: scissors
Jeani: rock

X_X own'd!!!!

After, Michael and I played Need for Speed Most Wanted and Soul Calibur IV (no Link... *sniff*) while Jeani watched Ouran High School Host Club on my iPod. Then, Michael and Jeani played The Sims 2 recreating the characters from Enchanted while I watched videos of the Dramatic Looking Prairie Dog and Angry German Kid on Michael's iTouch. Then my mum came to picked me up cause Edna was back in Accra for the night and no one was at home. We picked up some groceries and headed home. Uncle Keli dropped by then we went over to my grandmother's house who lives like 2 blocks down from my place. Edna, her mum, Edna's aunt, Fanny who's 23 and some other lady we're there so we we're there for a bit. Edna and Fanny stayed over at my place for the night. After settled them in, I went online and chatted with Precious, Keith and Nana Yaw.

Lemme introduce them...
Precious: A really good friend of mine who moved to Ohio a few years. When we chat, she wants to call. starchild has taken a bit of a hit this summer so I'm kind of letting her recover. Eli wants Gossip Girl but I don't want to use Limewire cause if I do, starchild may end up like my dad's old Apple. *shudders* Has a tennis match on Thrusday. ROFL'd when I heard she plays tennis.  She didn't understand why...And she made my summer fun 'casue we had never chatted until this summer. And she left years ago...

Keith: A friend of mine who just started his sophomore year at school. (ha ha!! IG's!!). He spent his summer in Tennessee which I will refer to and Tennis Land for no apart reason (Sorry any Tennessee readers!! ^_^).One of the few sophomore I'm kinda ok with (That grade is such a dramatic one!!) I think at this point in time I should mention that my other best friend, Erika, is in his grade. (Luv ya Leighton!!!! xXx Can't wait to see you on Saturday!) Told him to go to bed 'cause he had school (He's a day student btw)

Nana Yaw: One of my classmates who left for the US. I sat by him for some part of 8th grade and he was ******* annoying!!!! He was telling me that he got into some college in Philly. And all this time I thought he was still in Ghana. So when he mentioned 'Temple', I looked like a n00b.

Where was I?

Oh yeah, yesterday!!
So after I signed out, Edna and Fanny went online and I stayed up until 3:30 playing Twilight Princess, Guitar Hero III, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros Brawl. Then I read Microserfs for a bit. And Edna's alarm woke me up at 5... but I went back to sleep and woke up agian at 8:45

So far today,
Edna and Fanny got dressed and left to go to Legon. At this point in time, lemme just say that i was hoping to spend me time with Edna but she hangs out with Fanny. Maybe it's the French.
I think maybe i should have gone with then to Legon but I was feeling uber lazy to get ready.

So now, I'm gonna play the Sims 2 (Michael gave me the discs for Macs!!) while listening to Karmacode by Lacuna Coil and find some way of getting to Oxford Street (not by taxi, I have very limited money... and they may cheat me...)

The Starbucks Dream- I'm gonna add caramel to it for you, is it ok?

Listening to: Make me wanna pray by Christina Aguilera
On the phone with: Jeani
Just finished: eating fufu and palmnut soup (a traditional Ghanaian dish)

The sun is a beautiful thing. I had a epiphany while I was at the mall today. The summer is almost over and I hardly had any sun time. So when I got back home, I grabbed a chair, starchild, Microserfs by Douglas Coupland and my phone -ultimatepwnage- and I now have the sun in my face!!

And today too, I lived out a fantasy I had been dreaming about for some time. Lemme explain- I love coffee shops. Starbucks and the like. So I have this fanatsy of sitting in a coffee shop with a book or laptop with a cappucino (or whatever caffeine thing. I'm not really big on caffeine... yet)
Caitlin had to do her hair so my mum suggested the salon in the mall cause she hears the peole are quite good. So we dropped Caitlin at the salon, my mum went off to do grocery shopping (cause I'm uber skinny right now and I need to gain some weight before school starts or my friends will think I was anorexic over the summer) and i made my way to the coffee shop at the food court

But my fantasy was derailed...

Today, a large group of people were advertising a debit card which I thought was quite cool. While walking through the mall, I was asked twice to sign up. I declined both times. The third time was when I had left Caitlin in the salon and was making my way to the food court. This lady came up to me and practically dragged me to a seat and asked me to sign up. I told her my student ID had expired and my exam candidate number was different from the normal Ghanaian candidate number. She said no worries and the next thing I knew, I had an e-zwich debit card with the Ghana Commercial Bank logo on it. If I had known, I would have signed up and gotten one with the Standard Chartered logo. My mum was a bit upset (not at the fact that i got a card, the fact that the GCB logo was on it. She works at Standard Chartered :-D)
Either way, the card is quite cool. And most of the shops in the mall support the software anyway. So it was a bit of a win-win thing. Except the GCB logo. I still have some Guitar Hero III stickers. I'll use a few to cover it up...

And finally, Sedi lives out a fantasy!! ^_^

I get to the coffee shop like 20 minutes later and order a cinnamon twist with a vanilla milkshake. While waiting, i curled up in a corner and read Microserfs. I wasn't on cloud nine though, maybe cloud 6.5.

So that's been my day so far. Later on, I'll play Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl after my numerous guests who are currently at my house right now leave. Tonight, I have my room to myself!! I'm so excited!!

(The Daily Show Global Edition at 9:30!! I missed the 2:30 airing...)

This sucks for you!! or me maybe...

Watching: One on One (Dunno what season)
Eating: Reese's Snack Bar and a huge chocolate chip cookie
Wishing: nothing at the mo
Trying to: Download Maroon 5's "It Won't Be Soon Before Long"

...well...my first post...I should say something... I dunno...ok... here goes...

Let's start with the basics. My name's Sedinam but everyone calls me Sedi or Roxy (even some of my teachers) The 'Roxy' is a long story...

My summer's is ending in a week. And I must say it's been uber awesome even though I didn't travel. Last year, I spent 90% of my summer in the U.S. It pwn'd! This year pwn'd too in it's own way.

My parents went to L.A. early in the summer for the Rotary Convention so my sister Elikem (aka Eli) and I stayed with our uncle and cousins Mawena (Momo) and Mifatu (Mifa or Miffy) for 3 weeks. After my parents got back, my cousin from France, Edna, came to stay with us for 2 weeks. When she left for Niger, my other cousins from London came: Caitlin and Kiva. So they are leaving tomorrow and Eli went back to school today. Sucks for her!!

But in between all that, I got a summer job at a internet cafe, took driving lessons and went to a Fat Joe concert (it pwn'd!!)

So... facing the final week, there are stuff I wanna do like...
-Go over to my best friend Jeani's house and finally watch parts 2 and 3 of the Pirates of the Caribbean series (I never watched them.Ever... >.<)
-Go over to my cousin Micheal's house and played Fusion Frenzy 2 and get the Sims 2 on my Mac (whom I have named starchild. She's a 13-inch white Macbook!!)
-Hang out with Emily and Micheal before Emily goes back to London
-Hang out with my other cousin Gabriella (still haven't heard back from her...)

Analysis on the first post: UBER BORING!!!!! If I keep this up I'll slowly fade away into oblivion...

X_X
